Persuasive essay writing is aimed to convince the audience that the point of view presented by the writer is correct. For this purpose, the persuasive essay writer should develop a narrow topic that is debatable and well defined, with several sides. The author should understand various sides of this position and present the strongest information to support his opinion. In the persuasive essay, the writer must introduce one side only.
The topic sentence must be a statement of position, but not a fact that is debated by its nature. The statement directs the audience to follow the author’s logic to the specific conclusion.
In the introduction, you should state the three strong reasons for supporting your position. The reasons are the topics of three supporting paragraphs. In the main body, you need to use specific evidence, vivid examples, and statistics to persuade your reader that your position is valid. Every topic sentence must be introduced in the opening paragraph. Every additional sentence should closely concern the topic and the sentence came before it.
You must be sure to employ ample transitions between all the paragraphs, because they help your audience to follow the logic of your statement. Also, it is very important to redefine clearly the topic and state one more time the most convincing evidence presented in original form. Bear in mind, it is the last opportunity for you to remind your readers and convince them to accept your position. You must not present new information in the conclusion.
