Persuasive essay writing uses reason and logic to demonstrate that your idea is more legitimate than somebody else is. In your persuasive essay, you need to persuade your reader to take on a particular point of view. The argument is to use sensible reasoning and firm evidence in the way of stating facts, providing logical reasons, quoting experts, and using examples.
Before starting to compose your persuasive essay, you need to make a plan using the following steps:
1. Decide your position and provide the solution the problem.
2. Identify your audience whether it share your point of view or not or indifferent.
3. Research your topic. For this purpose, you need to find convincing evidence. It is best for you to visit libraries and look through some books and article dedicated to your problem. Also, you may surf the Internet and use some helpful websites. Do not forget to have regular consultations with your professor, because he can aim your thoughts to the right direction.
4. Structure your persuasive essay. Decide on the evidence to be included into your work and choose the order using for presenting your evidence.
In order to create an effective argument, you should follow the next criteria:
1) Be knowledgeable about the chosen topic. To increase your knowledge in the subject’s area, you need to read scrupulously about it, using only legitimate sources, and taking notes.
2) Test your thesis. It must comprise of two sides. The thesis must be questionable. If you may write down your thesis statement directly contradicting your own, make sure your argument is questionable.
3) Show the opposing argument to be false. Understand the contradicting viewpoint of your stay and counter it by offering opposing evidence or by pointing mistakes and logic inconsistencies the contradicting argument.
