Persuasive Essay: Tips on Writing

Every kind of essay writing pursues a certain objective. Persuasive essay aims to incline your reader to your viewpoint. Therefore, your main purpose is to provide enough examples and evidences in order to convince your reader in your rightness. Keep this fact in your mind, and you will be ready to write a good persuasive essay.
Like any other kind of essay, persuasive essay writing needs certain steps to follow:
- Identify the main idea of your persuasive essay. What would you like to reveal in your persuasive essay and how you are going to convince your reader that you are right?
- Define your reader. If you want to succeed in your essay, you should know what can raise your reader’s interest. What are your predictions as for the reader’s inclinations? Do you guess your reader will agree with your point of view or, perhaps, your position will be rejected?
- Try to find the strongest supporting evidences that might persuade your reader. Do not provide too many details, just write to the point. It is better to write down less but strong words, than plenty but of the secondary importance;
- Present the most significant point of view and provide the strong evidences to contradict it. The most important thing here is to explain why they are wrong and why you are right in a very persuasive way. Still, avoid intruding your point of view to your reader. Just be confident when giving your reasons, and your essay will sound effectively.
